The time I spent as Roger’s student was possibly some of the best invested time I’ve ever spent. It’s clear that the dedication that he put into developing his own talents as a musician, went just as much, if not more so, into his skills as a teacher. His teaching style is perfect for musicians of any level, if you’re just starting out, or a professional looking to iron out some kinks, Roger is more well equipped enough to help you get where you want to be.

Roger took me from knowing nothing about drums to now studying further at university and starting my own career as a musician, and I wouldn’t be where I am now if it weren’t for him.

After starting with Rog for my grade 2, I immediately took a liking to his laid back, professional and friendly approach to teaching, and his great respect for the art of drumming.

Roger is the most proficient teacher both behind and away from the kit you’ll come across, and took me from a beginner, all the way to my grade 8. Not only developing me as a player, but opening doors that have allowed me to gain amazing experiences playing with other musicians and growing my knowledge of the drums and the general music industry that have been invaluable.

I am currently studying Music Performance at University and hoping to go into a career in the Music industry as a drummer. My lessons with Roger are still as useful as ever as there is no limit to the things to learn from him, and will continue lessons with Roger throughout my career in the future!

I definitely recommend Roger to new students and other drummers who are looking to reach the next level in their playing. You won’t come across a better player, and definitely won’t come across a better guy.

Having been taught by Roger over the past 10 ten years, from our first lesson I adapted to his professional approach to learning the drums. Roger makes every lesson enjoyable and tailors the lessons to your ability. If it’s a technique or a specific piece of music you are struggling with, he will break it down and work with you to resolve it until you feel confident playing it. Having completed several exams, Roger always ensures that you are fully prepared in every section of the examination to ensure you pass with flying colours!  With his wealth of Gigs and session Recordings throughout his career Roger can always advice and put you in the right direction, his knowledge within the industry is second to none!

I would definitely recommend Roger to new students of all abilities! I’m very grateful for the time I have spent learning and the encouragement and confidence he has given to my playing! Without this I wouldn’t be the musician I am today.
